As the director, talent portfolio practices, you will be a steward of Starbucks talent philosophy and practices, focused on consistency and continued maturity of our talent practices. You will lead the team of talent strategy principals to build function-specific talent strategies and drive plans to elevate the portfolio of talent within each function.
- Leading and evolving enterprise-wide talent management practices (e.g succession management, executive development, performance management) and enabling technologies with a focus on maturing our practices and delivering business value. Optimizing talent management operations to reduce complexity, accelerate impact, and to ensure integration and consistency across functions and regions.
- Working with assigned client groups to build function-specific talent strategy and drive plans to elevate the portfolio of talent within the function through talent practices. Ensuring agility and continuous improvement in consulting and service delivery.
- Providing relevant data and content for inclusion in executive leadership team talent routines, presentation to Starbucks CMDC and, reports to Starbucks board of directors, etc.
- Partnering with director of executive recruitment, and organizational design leaders to deeply understand and track the state of leadership capability and impact and critical business capabilities across the global talent portfolio. Ensuring that the connection points with key stakeholders are frequent and transparent and the right level of support is being provided.
- Measuring the business impact of talent management solutions against clear metrics, driving continuous improvement with identified gaps, and creating feedback loops to the talent management innovation team to improve effectiveness of programs, policies and processes.
- Consulting on or leading strategic projects to advance the capability of the PRO organization and the services we deliver to our partners and the business
We’d love to hear from people who:
- Communicate clearly and concisely—visually and verbally—at an audience-appropriate level (up to and including executives), and can adapt messaging to “speak the language” that resonates with varied stakeholders across the organization
- Take a consultative approach that involves listening attentively, clarifying the problems to solve and taking a structured problem-solving approach while engaging key stakeholders throughout
- Have an understanding of the principles of change management, dedicating appropriate time and effort to deeply embedding solutions and driving sustainable change
- Build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders to bring others along and set all parties up for success
- Have expertise with scaled talent solutions and messaging, preferably in a retail/food service environment
- Have experience consulting internally or externally consulting on organization development, talent management, performance & development, change management and related strategies
- Have program or project management experience, preferably in the field of Operations or Human Resources

The pay range for this position may be narrower than that displayed, depending on where the work is performed
