Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist, an hourly non-exempt role, provides accounting support for functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and general ledger. Additional support for high-level accounting practices including budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting analysis duties may be assigned.
Ownership

Review, code and process assigned invoices utilizing established accounting procedures.

Provide timely and accurate balancing and reconciliation of assigned accounts.

Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances.

Create and maintain regular reports via the company’s accounting system.

Input credit and debits to the accounting system in support of established processes and procedures.

Record general ledger entries for account changes.

Prepare departmental KPIs and other performance management reports.

Maintain and update department SharePoint sites.

Conduct research, compile data, and present information to the Controller.

Complete projects and special assignments by establishing objectives, determining priorities, managing time, gaining cooperation of others, monitoring progress, problem-solving; and adjusting plans.

Respond to internal and external payment status inquiries in a timely manner.

Perform a broad variety of tasks including: date stamping, filing, price verification, mailing, and other duties as assigned.

Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

This position may have responsibilities related to food safety and quality.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree in Accounting or a business-related field and four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong experience with Accounting software and Office 365 applications including but not limited to Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary position with no unusual physical requirements.
