Specific Tasks

  • Prepares corrugated waste by manually banding product and placing in bin to go back to vendor or to recycle depending on the cause for waste.

  • Completes pallet for movement to warehouse by attaching corner posts if required, printing ticket and attaching sticker to pallet sheet and to pallet.

  • Adjusts palletizer and/or packer for product by setting controls for height and count.

  • Runs packer, feeder, and palletizer by monitoring and adjusting each section of machine as necessary.

  • Troubleshoots where carton is out of alignment, case count problems, feeder/packer issues, works with operator to make adjustments as necessary.

  • Load equipment with corrugated and glue.

  • Perform quality checks as required.

  • Perform preventive maintenance as required.

  • Handle stacks of cartons to load and keep machines running

  • Specific Safety Responsibilities:

    • Report any unsafe conditions that are encountered.

    • Report any injury or near miss to Team Leader immediately.

    • Do not perform a duty that appears to be unsafe without consulting a Team Leader.

    • Recognize hazards of the job and learn how to avoid them.

    • Follow BJA's and SOPS.

    • Observe all Safety Rules.

    • Wear safety equipment and protective devices as required: steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, cut-gloves, harness, etc.

    • Keep work area clean and uncluttered.

    • Conduct safe behavior observation on a weekly basis, 4 a month are required

    Specific SQF Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) policy.

    • Every Evergreen team member has a responsibility for ensuring the products we produce are safe and of good quality.

    • Personally act with behaviors consistent with achieving and maintaining Safe Quality Foods Level 2 certification.

    • Behavior in the facility, and on equipment, shall not compromise the food safety goals.

    • Follow responsibilities for this job description on make ready, start up, or change over/line clearance procedure.

    • Do not run unsafe product.

    • Support the goal of producing a food safe product by following all programs, policies, SOPs as well as GMPs.

    • Report and/or fix problem that creates a Food Safety Hazard.

    • Place suspect product on precautionary hold.

    • Specific Functional Responsibilities:

      • Must be able to accurately observe, analyze, and assess detailed troubleshooting needs on machinery and various equipment

      • Must be able to communicate and exchange information.

      • Must be able to operate equipment including desktop computers and handheld devices, handle and prepare material, firmly grasp tools and machinery

      • Standing 8-12 hours per shift all day, every day on concrete.

      • Lifting up to 50lbs frequently when loading corrugated all day, every day.

      • Pinch grip strength to lift handfuls of corrugated paper all day, every day.

      • Bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching all day, every day.

      • Making machine adjustments in awkward positions with twisting four to five times a day.

      • Using wrenches to tighten and loosen bolts in awkward postures four to five times a day.

      • Pushing a load once or twice a day.

      • Placing up to 50lbs load to floor level 20 to 45 times a day or as needed.

      • Lifting up to 50lbs load from floor level 5 to 20 times day or as needed.

      • Restacking pallets of 48lbs cases from floor to above shoulder height two to three times day or as needed.

      • Moving wooden pallets four to five times a day.

      • Climbing vertical ladders up to 16 feet from ground to platform 10 to 15 times a day.

      • Crouching for 2-5 min., un-jamming equipment 20 to 30 times a day.

      • Pulling and pushing with force four to five times a day.

      • Pulling hand pallet jacks two and three times a day.

      • Lifting rollers to change belts up to 60lbs in awkward position two to three times a day.

      • The team member is required to be able to perform the above tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary info:

$17.77 - $25.03 / hr
