  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technology, or equivalent experience in Ad Tech or technology companies.
  • 10+ years of experience in program/product/project management roles, with a focus in privacy, compliance, or risk management.

We are looking for a seasoned leader to help us lead and further develop our Governance & Compliance program. The role has impact across everything we do in Advertising and is highly visible to executive leadership on an ongoing basis.

Key job responsibilities

The Role:
  • Develop, operationalize, and manage the Governance & Compliance Program for Ads.
  • Enhance policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with regulations, laws, and internal standards. This includes resolution of audit findings and the execution of projects originated from internal assessments.
  • Provide effective and timely advice on complex compliance matters to the business, in conjunction with our regulatory, legal and privacy teams, on how to manage and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Work with legal, regulatory, audit and business leads across Ads to develop, enhance and maintain our compliance policies and controls.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product SMEs across Ads to build develop and implement additional controls. Invent simple solutions to difficult regulatory issues
  • Track the compliance readiness and sign-off the go-live of compliance related products.
  • Manage partnerships with internal business stakeholders.
  • Report to leadership on the effectiveness of the Compliance & Governance Program.

  • Strategic thinker who can demonstrate understanding of requirements, foresee risks, make decisions guided by policies, procedures, customer needs, and business plan with limited guidance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate concepts into clear steps and communicate to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment; relentless innovator. Challenges status quo and champions best-in-class technical solutions and problem-solving.

Virtual Location - USA

  • Strong familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, FTC Act Section 5, and other privacy regulations.
  • Privacy or Security industry certifications.
  • Technical expertise, particularly with Ad Tech.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools and technology.
  • Knowledge of compliance methods, standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard compliance frameworks.
  • Prior experience with project management.
  • Experience working in regulated industry, preferably on a global scale
  • Global experience (e.g., program launches in multiple geographies simultaneously).
  • Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable compliance processes
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Ability to take ownership and successfully deliver results in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Relentlessly high standards.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams to define requirements and apply strategic thinking.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
