POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Business Partner contributes to the development and accomplishment of the organization-wide business plan and its objectives. The Business Partner is responsible for planning, organizing and administering human resource programs and policies in support of the business plan (including the company's vision and strategies), internal policies and practices, and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental authorities. The Business Partner provides advice, counsel, and assistance on company policies, procedures, and documentation to management partners, and initiates the resolution of problems and inquiries. The HR Business Partner maintains responsibilities in the following representative, but not all inclusive, functional areas: Recruiting and Hiring, Training, Organization Development, Communications, Performance Management, Coaching, Policy Development and Documentation, Compensation Planning, Employee Relations and Engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as human resources support for a specific partner group, defined from any of the following functions or combination of functions: manufacturing, quality, supply chain, product development, sales, marketing, finance and customer service. Actively partners with functional management in development and accomplishment of the business plan.
- Actively participates in developing and implementing human resource departmental goals, objectives, programs, processes, policies and systems.
- Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with functional and company-wide strategic goals.
- Responsible for developing positive employee relations activities within partner group, and for effectively addressing employee relations problems or issues.
- Responsible for compliant administration of human resources practices, policies and procedures. Analyzes practices, policies and procedures for improvement and supplies recommendations for solutions. Conducts training where necessary to implement new practices, policies, or procedures.
- Plans, coordinates and implements the performance management plan including training and updating of forms/systems or process if necessary. Provides counsel, advice and assists management partners with performance-related issues to ensure employees are meeting or exceeding performance standards. Develops and implements performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Creates, prepares and maintains job descriptions, including re-writing and updating of existing job descriptions.
- Administers separation procedures including exit interviews for exempt and non-exempt employees
- Complies with and is responsible for the proper administration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for the site. Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with human resource policies and procedures and the regulations to maintain limited exposure to lawsuits. Provides training and counseling to customers as necessary or required. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or required.
- Plans, coordinates and implements site random alcohol and drug testing program.
- Encourages, recommends and implements continuous improvement measures within Human Resources responsibilities.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business-related field.
- Knowledgeable of current employment law, proper employee relations practices, proactive labor relations.
- Ability to maintain flexible work hours to accommodate 3 shift manufacturing site.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Human resource information systems experience.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, administrative, verbal/written communication and active listening skills
- Strong proactive problem solving and business judgment skill sets.
- Coordinates and manages time, multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop and make presentations before groups with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Understands importance of and has the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality of information.
